Favorite food before a race: Normally toast with avocado, but it is anything I can get my hands on as you can’t always get the food you want in strange places. Try to steer clear of dairy.

What does your weekly training entail? As I work shift work it varies from week to week but an ideal week would be – Monday, Paddle and circuit weights, Tuesday, Paddle and cycle, Wednesday, Paddle and circuit weights, Thursday, Paddle and cycle, Friday, paddle and circuit weights, Saturday, Paddle. The paddle sessions vary from interval work, middle distance stuff and time trials with some long paddles as well. Also rest day on Sundays.

Biggest Weakness: Lollies and chocolate.

Favorite pass time: I love a hang at the coffee shop and sip my lattes, good time to relax.

What is the most frustrating or difficult sport you have ever tried: I was a professional ironman for 10 years so I guess I have had some very frustrating days doing that, the surf can be very frustrating sometimes as much as it can be a blessing.

Comments: I have only been doing the ocean ski thing for 2 years now and I just love it, it is something I would be doing even if these races were not around. I love it as well as I feel I just keep on learning and improving all the time, it’s always changing and that is what I think keeps me going. Plus I love keeping fit and there is no better way in paddling out in the ocean.
