Race Rules

Swim Leg

  • Swimmers may wear wetsuits for the event.
  • No other flotation devices can be used for the event eg pull bouys, kick boards etc.
  • No flippers, fins or other propulsion devices can be used for the swim.

Paddle Leg

  • PFD’s are not required for this event.
  • If unsure about what course your particular craft can do please contact the organizers

Course 1

    • All surf skis, sea kayaks, OC1s, SLSA skis must use this course for the paddle leg

Course 2

    • All paddleboards, SUPs, SLSA paddleboards any surf boards over 8ft must use this course.

Course 3

    • All surfboards under 8ft and nipper racing boards must use this course.

Run Legs

  • Runner must follow course directed by the race referee. This may include either soft or hard sand running or a mixture of both. Runners can wear shoes but no forms of wheeled assistance can be used.

Race Rules

  • All individual competitors must collect their electronic timing band prior to race start. Only the last competitor (the one doing the last leg) has to wear the timing chip.
  • All competitors must follow the course outlined by the race organizers.
  • All competitors must attend the event briefing prior to the event
  • All competitors must assist any other competitor that is in a life threatening or dangerous situation if feasibly possible or risk disqualification.
  • Competitors who miss any turning buoys or take a shorter course outside of the official course will be disqualified.
  • Competitors can wash ride/draft other craft/swimmers in the event.
  • Age group competitors are eligible for open prize money.

3 Person Relay Teams

  • When changing from one leg to another teams must tag their next competitor on the back and in full view. Any competitor leaving before the tag will have their team disqualified.
  • Three person teams may have only two competitors. The competitor that does two legs will use their age twice to work out age group aggregates.
  • Aggregate age group competitors are eligible for open prize money.

2 Person Duo Teams

  • Duo competitors must cross the finish line together. During the course of the race duos can be apart.
  • Duos can use double paddle craft eg double skis, sea kayaks or OC2s.
